Open fires, oak beams and wooden floors give the restaurant and bar a warm and welcoming atmosphere. To provide interest and tie in with the buildings history, farming memorabilia adorn the walls and beams, and the bar has been recreated by reclaiming panels from an old church organ. The setting is far from bland or manufactured.
The Croft takes it's name from it's location, which was named the Carthouse Croft on an 18th Century tythe map. The building was originally a dairy, and one of the stalls is actually still in place within the restaurant.
The location of the restaurant itself is idyllic. It has a large lawn outside with tables overlooking the fruit farm and verdant hills in the distance. A paddock adjoining the restaurant is the perfect plot for a marquee for weddings or other special occasions. Please click here to see more photographs
